Here at Fudog Finance, we don’t believe in stupid questions. If you feel inadequate because you don’t know the difference between a ROTH IRA versus a SEP IRA or a ROTH 401K, you’re not alone. You’re actually ahead of the game for asking to begin with. You’re the type of people we’re looking for! Remember, we all gotta start somewhere.

What exactly is a FUDOG and why are you called Fudog Finance?
In Asian mythology, the FUDOG is a fierce, half lion, half dog creature that is a symbol of protection and typically seen in pairs guarding the entrance to sacred places. When I started my business, I spent entirely too much time trying to figure out a clever name. What was more important was that I begun the work of solving the problem and getting after it.
As I was cleaning out my Army stuff preparing for retirement, I came across old pictures of one of the units I commanded while on Active duty – The FUDOGS. I have an affinity for large dogs (I had 2 Cane Corsos), FUDOG starts with the letter “F” just as Finance does, and above all – the FUDOG looks pretty damn cool. Hence, FUDOG FINANCE LLC was born.

Truth be told, I didn’t think I could even grow one. As cool as beards are nowadays, that beard got extremely long and was annoying AF. As for your question – I’d tell you but then I’d have to kill you.

Do you only serve Military and Veterans?
No. We serve EVERYONE willing to learn and put in the work. We begun in the military, but the truth is – money affects EVERYONE. A lot of the methodologies the military uses to train service members in various tasks, transfer over very well to the civilian side. As a result, we took those training methods to the civilian market.
Can Fudog Finance manage my assets?
No. Fudog Finance LLC is a financial education and financial coaching company. We do not manage assets for our clients. We educate and empower them to make their own financial decisions and manage their assets on their own.
Do you teach crypto investing?
Not at this time. Doesn’t mean we won’t consider Crypto in the future! Fudog Finance believes that no one should invest in something they don’t understand. As it currently stands, Fudog Finance simply doesn’t have the experience or education in Crypto to invest in it ourselves, let alone teach it. One of our core values is Leadership by Example – so we will never teach something we have not done ourselves.
What is your style of investing and what do you teach?
This is a complex question. Investing can take the form of crypto, day trading, commodities, real estate, buying businesses, etc.
We believe in investing for the long term. We primarily focus on the bare bones basics – low cost, index funds or target date funds.
Do you teach real estate investing?
No. Our coaching program focuses on the basics – low cost index funds and target date funds.
But we do love real estate and what it offers. Some of us our active real estate investors (I included), but it is separate from Fudog Finance at this time. We may incorporate Real Estate Investing in the future! Stay tuned!
What do you mean by, "Fudog Finance is selective and doesn't work with anybody?"
FF is selective of our clientele and only work with those willing to learn and put in the work.
Some clients believe that FF will setup your investment accounts, set your asset allocations, setup your budgets and clean up debt for them while they sit back and watch.
FF will educate clients on how to do these things, but ultimately – the work will have to come from the client. At FF we believe that the person best suited to manage your money is you.
We understand that some clients don’t have the confidence to do it on their own, but if they are willing to learn and do in on their own – we can help. Not to say we will stand back and watch you fail – that’s not what coaches do. We provide the education, show you what we have done and then stand over your shoulder to cheer you on when you’re ready to do the same!
We look for clients who are naturally curious, love to learn, hands on learners and love to practice what they learn independently. If any of that resonated with you – we’re probably a good fit! Contact us!
I think I have what it takes, but I'm not sure. Do you do consultations?
Absolutely! FF offers free 30 minute consultations for potential clients. During that call, a coach will contact you to discuss what we have to offer and gauge whether or not we’re a good fit.
